Description of Property:
Open space but with surrounding trees that provide some shade at times through the day. My land has great sun exposure. It is completely fenced so the deer can't get in unless the main gate is left open. There are some old apricot trees, one old plum and an old apple tree. The land was owned originally be two avid gardeners. They put in the fruit trees. They also had a wonderful garden that has good soil. The other parts of the land has rocky composite soil, but with a lot of great light and sun exposure. The original owners grew lots of strawberries and other typical garden vegetables. I have a small area near my house that I can manage, but I would love to offer other areas of my land for someone to use as a garden, a CSA, or a community garden.
Additional Notes:
I would love to see the land used more efficiently. I would be open to having a small group farm the land, to offer a CSA, or a community garden if the right group of people were interested. It is easy to access my land and enough removed from the house that it feels private for everyone. I'm very excited about this idea of offering my land for someone to work. My grandfather was a farmer in Nebraska, so I come from a line of people who worked the land. I'd like that to continue.
